The Hilux is the Toyota pickup we want here, and the Invincible-X version of the latest international Toyota mid-size pickup is all the more reason for us to pine for it more than the Tacoma the states get. The Hilux has been revised with a double cab, short-bed version called the Invincible-X. The front fascia is bolder and chunkier, and there’s plenty of black trim bits to make it look more badass than it already is. New fenders, grille trim, side mirror caps, door handles, and running boards get the darkened treatment, and there’s even a matching beefy roll bar in the bed. It also receives new LED headlights and taillights, as well as bold “Invincible” lettering in the tailgate and rear fenders so everyone knows not to mess. Perhaps the most important upgrade, however,r is the new 2.8-liter diesel mill under the hood that provides the Invincible-X with 201 horses and 369 lb-ft of torque that powers all four wheels via a six-speed automatic or (better yet) a six-speed manual transmission. The rest of the world gets this beast starting in November of 2020. We just have to ogle from afar.
