Professional American skateboarder, director and author Karl Watson was born in late 1976 and would spend a lifetime developing a laid back skate style, shoes, skateboards, parks and pretty much everything else skate culture related. Watson teamed up with artist Henry Jones to create a hardcover children’s book with a story similar to the iconic skateboarder’s own coming of age tale. My First Skateboard Book was born. It’s small in both size and page count. It’s illustrated and narrated like the children’s book it’s supposed to be. It’s not the kind of book you’d want to read to another adult, but if you have a child of your own, or a niece or nephew, this is the perfect book to get kids interested in skateboarding.
