They take an already beastly Ford F-550 Super Duty truck and give it its own super-light, super-rigid carbon fiber body that drops a substantial 1,000 pounds from the standard EarthRoamer LTS. It also comes with solar power to charge the 11kWh lithium-ion batteries, as well as a huge 95-gallon fuel tank that feeds the big 6.7-liter V8 that powers all four wheels. Off-road components like grille guards, reinforced bumpers, and huge LED lighting elements ensure proper management of the unbeaten path. Customers can configure the floor plan based on their needs, and they can choose from five different trims: Telluride, Boulder, Breckenridge, Aspen, and Crestone that all include permutations of beds, sofas, food storage, pantry, galley kitchen, bathroom, and dining area. Capacity ranges from sleeping and seating from 3 to 4 occupants. Prices start at $590,000 and climb depending on the configuration. The waiting list is long, and the deposit is a hefty $50K, but you get one of the toughest, lightest, and best-outfitted overlanders on the planet.
