Mitsubishi Mi-Tech Concept Buggy

Mitsubishi Mi-Tech Concept Buggy

Just when we thought Mitsubishi lost its imagination after it killed the Lancer Evolution rally car, they come with something totally out of left field, the Mi-Tech, a concept plug-in hybrid buggy/SUV-type vehicle that looks a lot like one of Voltron’s fists visited car dealership. Having just debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Mi-Tech shows us what a hi-tech, multi-terrain, multi-fuel future could look like. It boasts four electric motors powering all four corners, a huge windshield with augmented reality display, huge blocky fenders filled with tires that can handle dirt and pavement with equal skill. Advanced optical sensors will pick up data and throw up relevant info on the windshield to keep you safe even when visibility has been compromised. Inside, there’s a nifty linear keyboard control panel with a handgrip just below to stay in control when the going gets tough. If you look at the back, you’ll see a gas turbine generator that can run on diesel, kerosene, and alcohol, so it can still survive no matter what region it traverses. Though this beast probably won’t get built, it points to a direction where Mitsubishi wants to go with its electrified and hybrid future. Now, if they just bring the Evo back, all will be forgiven.
