BMW has finally figured out a way to make their hulking X6 Sport Activity Vehicle look way smaller. This particular one is clad in what’s called “Vantablack VBx2”, a hue that seems born of a black hole. The paint isn’t just super black, it makes use of carbon nanotubes that reflect light while retaining an ultra-black coloring that’s non-metallic and virtually eliminates shine and depth. The result is an almost other-worldly two-dimensional look that makes it seem like the X6 has been painted on a wall. It’s also the perfect way to show off BMW’s new LED illuminated kidney grilles that will be available on virtually all of the Munich brand’s lineup. Look for the Vantablack X6 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Just don’t let your hand get sucked in when you try to touch it.
