There’s no doubt in our minds that Oliver Cabell is the best new sneaker brand of the past few years, but their recently released Phoenix sneaker seals the deal. It’s a stylish, airy shoe with a sleek profile and a simple black or white aesthetic. If you want clean lines, minimal color and solid construction, you’re already sold. It gets better. The Phoenix is a 3D printed sneaker with an upper constructed of recycled plastic bottles. Recycled bottles are sterilized, washed and cut into flakes before being spun into a fiber and then getting printed into a shoe. “Our mission has always been fairly simple,” Scott Gabrielson, founder of Oliver Cabell, explains. “To marry the finest design, materials, and process with the latest technology, while leading the way for socially conscious businesses. We feel that the Phoenix is the culmination of what we’ve been striving for since we launched.” We’re inclined to agree with him–especially when you factor in the odor-reducing liner for sockless wear, cooling microfiber tongue, EVA sole and the fact they’re machine washable.
