Italian watch brand Unimatic has been able to consistently deliver high-quality but affordable boutique timepieces since it bombed the watch scene with its Modello Uno U1-A back in 2015. Since then, they’ve introduced several new models, both meca-quartz and mechanical automatic, and they’ve also done unique limited-run collabs with the likes of Luisaviaroma, Mihara Yasuhiro, and GOODS. Now, they’ve joined with Japanese retailer BIOTOP to create the Modello Uno ref. U1-BTP in a gorgeous brown, black, and Old Radium lume colorway. The diving watch gets an espresso brown bezel and matching Nato strap, matte black dial with cream-colored hands, numerals and markers. Like all their automatics, it’s powered by a modified and reliable Seiko NH35A movement with a 41-hour power reserve. Water-resistance is 1,000 ft, and it’s capped on the face with tough sapphire crystal. Unimatic is selling them exclusively on the Japanse BIOTOP site, and the U1-BTP is limited to a total of 100 units. The Nato strap version will be limited to 80 units for about $780, and the OEM solid-link stainless steel bracelet version will be limited to 20 units for around $1,010.
