The Sultans of Sprint race series at Monza’s “The Reunion” is a glorious celebration of two-wheeled speed and style. It’s for this special event that Indian Motorcycles partnered with Belgium-based Workhorse Speedshop to create a straight line monster known as the Workhorse Appaloosa, the likes of which the world has never seen. It takes the big Indian Scout Bobber motorcycle and turns it into something altogether unique thanks to a look that blends coal-powered locomotive, early Formula 1 cars, and the North American Aviation F-86 Sabre fighter jet from the Korean War. Yep. All participants in the Sultans of Sprint Factor Class Race must adhere to four-stroke motors, and the Appaloosa takes the 100 horsepower motor and adds the spice of nitrous oxide for a 30-hp boost. The big painted fairing funnels air through and around the big bike and matches the tapered tank, while the gorgeous tail section pays homage to vintage 2-stroke Moto GP bikes. After 700 hours of work, the end result is one of the most unique mods we’ve ever laid eyes on and one that’s pretty damned fast.
