We love when innovation creeps its way into gear that’s essentially remained unchanged forever. Case in point, the new Halfbike 3, which looks like a truly entertaining blend of bike, scooter, and tricycle wrapped in a recreational and fitness-oriented human-powered vehicle of the best kind. The handmade Halfbike 3 is designed for casual riding and commuting imparted by its small footprint, or adventurous jumps and street carving thanks to its high level of maneuverability and excellent control. It uses bespoke parts such as the frame and handlebar crafted in their European shop where the bikes are assembled and also makes use of premium bike components. There’s a slight learning curve, but that’s where the fun comes in because, after only about 15 minutes of practice, it’s daily rideable. The more time you spend on it, the better your skill level. The fact that it’s foldable and small means you can take it just about anywhere without worrying about the bulkiness of a bicycle. It’s already exceeded its Kickstarter goal, but you can still get in on it and get a great deal on what should be a very cool, non-dorky way of getting around.
