Another Lamborghini ‘Rambo Lambo’ SUV Is Heading to Auction

As enthralled as we are by the sleek and stylish Lamborghini Urus SUV, if we were given the choice between one of those and one of these old school LM002 SUVs, the 90s kid inside of us wins every time. Affectionately referred to as the “Rambo Lambo,” the LM002 is an oft forgotten artifact of the late 80s and early 90s that was produced for less than a decade in incredibly small numbers. This 1988 example with only 33,000 miles is one of the only 328 produced, and it’s headed to the auction block. Why would anyone want a 5,720lb curb weight vehicle? Because the “Rambo Lambo” is basically a super-sized Lamborghini Countach down to the familiar interior and identical V12 engine, which means it’s capable of an under 8 second 0-60 while still being able to comfortably hold four people. This 1988 Lamborghini LM002 will cross the auction block on Friday, March 8 as part of RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island sale. It’s estimated to raise between $325k and $375k, but seeing as how RM Sotheby’s sold a similar one for over half a million, we expect the number to be much higher.
