BMW Designworks x The North Face Camper Concept

BMW Designworks x The North Face Camper Concept

BMW Designworks has been responsible for quite a few interesting collaborations since BMW acquired them in 1995. They worked with U.S. Paralympic team to make a carbon fiber racing wheelchair. They also made the Level 10 M gaming mouse with Thermaltake. And now The North Face gets added to their impressive list with the new camper concept that was just unveiled at CES. The lightweight, tow-able camper fuses the iconic structure of a geodesic dome with the real showstopper, a fabric exterior made of Futurelight, The North Face’s new innovation that uses Nanospinning technology to “create the world’s most advanced, breathable, waterproof material.” The Nanospinning process creates super tiny holes that allow air to move through the Futurelight material while still being completely waterproof, which means you get a comfortable sleeping experience without having to sacrifice protection from the elements. The Futurelight Camper is only a concept at this point with no plans for production, but The North Face will be rolling out the fabric across their performance collections later this year.
