Wearables didn’t start with the modern smartwatch. In fact, in 1986, PUMA unleashed on the world a sneaker way ahead of its time. The RS-Computer running shoe was a blend of street style and tech unlike anything else on the market. Now that we walk around with Apple Watches, wireless earbuds, fitness trackers, and other tech accessories, PUMA has decided it’s high time the sneaker returned. The sneaker will once again pack the rear heel counter that stores running data (distance, time, calories, etc.), only this time that data is transferred wirelessly to your smartphone (back in the day you had to plug the shoe into an Apple computer). Other upgrades include an LED indicator, a rechargeable battery, and a 3-axis accelerometer. Unfortunately, only 86 pairs will be released and they will be gobbled up quick. If you want to try and score a pair, they drop at select retailers on December 13.
