We’re going to be honest with you. We have no idea if the new Palm device is smart or hilariously stupid. But we want to present it to you because it is original and, to some, possibly quite valuable. In short, the Palm is a small phone that allows you to leave your big phone at home. Allow us to explain. The Palm is a credit card-sized “phone” that syncs with your Android or iOS device and offers quick actions in apps in an effort to simplify the experience and help you disconnect. Life Mode silences incoming calls and notifications until you wake the phone, allowing you to spend less time on your phone. So, in theory, it’s meant to help you live the life in front of you. Still, it runs millions of apps, packs two cameras, and does a lot of what your regular phone does; it’s just smaller. We do agree that our attention is being stolen by our devices, and that something needs to be done about it. Whether the new Palm is that something remains to be seen.
