Yamaha’s New Turntable Can Stream over WiFi

The Yamaha MusicCast Vinyl 500 is a stunning piano black record player that has everything you’d expect (solid cartridge, high-end construction, built-in phono preamp, etc.) from a great turntable, along with modern WiFi connectivity. Yes. WiFi in a turntable. Why? Because now you can stream everything from your record collection—complete with pops, cracks and general warmth—to Yamaha MusicCast wireless speakers throughout your house (multi-room audio!) without having to worry about running wires. You also have the option to stream music through the MusicCast Vinyl 500 using AirPlay, Bluetooth or Spotify Connect, which does give you added convenience but kind of defeats the purpose in our opinion.
