This 1923 Leica Is the Most Expensive Camera Ever Sold

A brand new Leica will run you a few thousand dollars. If you want one with less tech and more history, well, it will run you quite a bit more. Like, for example, if you wanted a 1923 Leica 0-Series, of which there were only 25 ever made. That camera will set you back close to $3 million. That’s how much one of these uber-rare models went for at the 32nd WestLicht Camera Auction in Vienna recently, as the 1923 Leica became the most expensive camera of all time. Selling for around $2,951,000, the camera bested another Leica 0-Series that was auctioned off in 2012. A private collector from Asia was the winning bidder this time around. But don’t hang your head; it probably sucks at taking selfies.
