We’ve seen quite a few clever ways to disguise the TV that’s most likely the centerpiece of your living room, but nothing like the chameleon-esque tactic Samsung’s new QLED TVs use. Much like active camouflage from sci-fi movies, the ambient mode of the TV displays a picture you took of the wall behind it to making it visually blend into the surroundings. The end result appears to be a floating black frame on the wall that holds up to all but the closest scrutiny. The new TVs will also have the ability to display clocks, photos, news headlines and weather through partnerships with established institutions like The New York Times. As if that isn’t enough, there’s also voice control and an industry first power/data “One Invisible Connection” cable that won’t require drilling holes in the wall to hide. The QLED TVs will be available later this month in five different sizes ranging from 49″ to 88″.
