A dishwasher is a luxury many apartment dwellers in expensive metropolitan areas can only fantasize about. That’s about to change with Tetra from Heatworks. Just unveiled at CES, Tetra is an internet-connected dishwasher that sits on a countertop and doesn’t require plumbing. With the ability to hold 10 plates or 12 glasses, it’s not going to challenge a conventional unit in terms of capacity. But anyone who washes all their dishes by hand would love a little assistance, right? And that’s just what Tetra provides at 10 minutes a load. There is something else Tetra has going for it; it won’t waste as much water as handwashing does, so you can save a bit while also not needing to scrub after a dinner. Perfect for two people, Tetra requires no faucet connection, so you can plop it anywhere there’s room. Look for it later this year and cost under $300.
