Fill a bowl with chili, cereal, or homemade ramen and you’ll quickly realize that transporting it from the stove, microwave, or kitchen counter to the table is easier said than done. The best method we’ve found is sticking your thumb in and cradling the bottom, but this still results in drops, dunked thumbs, and that awkward move where you try to place it down and slide your fingers out of the way at the same time. The Waist Bowl is a solution to this bowl carrying dilemma. Designed by Jonathan Saphiro Salim, the Waist Bowl features an elevated foot ring so carrying is easy and so is placing it down on the table. It still looks like a clean piece of dishware, though we do wonder about the staking ability. The Waist Bowl is a Red Dot Award winner and we’ll have to keep an eye out for it when it eventually hits shelves.
