The coolest thing we ever built on a camping trip was a sick-ass gimp lanyard. Maybe we grew up too early or just went to the wrong camp, because 90 campers in New Hampshire just built this incredible structure in the middle of the woods. Dubbed Salvage Station No. 8, the building is now part of Camp Beam, a camp that teaches kids ages 9–16 how to build and craft things with their own hands. Inside, Salvage Station No. 8 looks like it was pulled from the set of Lost, as there’s a definite sci-fi, post-apocalyptic vibe to the thing. The design came from artist Shing Yin Khor, who originally imagined it as something for Burning Man. We dig the middle of the woods a bit more.
