Virtual reality always seems on the cusp of taking off. If we had to venture a guess as to why it hasn’t yet, pretty high on our list of ideas would be the fact that you need a solid PC to make that headset work or, for some models, a smartphone. Oculus saw this first hand with the Rift. Their solution? Oculus Go. Oculus Go is a virtual reality headset that doesn’t require a PC or wires. That means you can have an immersive experience without being tied to your desktop. You’ll be able to play over 1,000 VR games, access social apps, delve into 360° experiences, and much more wherever you take it. Designed to be breathable and comfortable, the headset will even work with glasses. There are integrated speakers, a 2560 x 1440 resolution display, and an audio jack should you want to use your own headphones. The Oculus Go should be available some time early next year.
