The father / son team at Onehundred is back on Kickstarter with their latest project, “Qbit: a modern interpretation of an ancient tool.” Based on the ancient cubit ruler, one of the earliest known measuring devices, Qbit is an EDC measuring tool that’s precision-turned on a Swiss CNC lathe from stainless steel or brass before being machined with Standard or Metric measuring scales and laser-etched graphics. Qbit comes in short (3″ or 75mm) or long (6″ or 150mm) sizes and each option also has an adjustable red marker for transferring or remembering measurements. It’s not going to be as useful as a multi-tool on a regular basis, but the Qbit is still a great addition to the everyday carry if you find yourself measuring smaller things regularly. The Qbit starts at $20 for the smallest size (3″ or 75mm) and has about a month to go on the Kickstarter project with estimated delivery of rewards in November.
