While we wouldn’t necessarily consider a laser engraver an essential tool you’d carry around everyday, there are certainly quite a few possibilities for the technology when it fits in the palm of your hand. The Muherz Cubiio Portable Laser Engraver has most of the functionality you’d find in a machine three times its size and five times its cost, but it’s the size of a smaller action camera and can be attached to a tripod for all your laser engraving needs. Cubiio can engrave and cut paper board, cardboard, fabric, felt, leather and wood, along with engraving non-transparent acrylic. The only thing it won’t engrave or cut is metal. But even with that limitation the unit is still capable of making paperboard animals, jewelry, leather bracelets and engraving wooden spoons, skateboards, and seaweed. In other words, it will take your groomsmen and Christmas gifting to the next level. If you pick one of these up you’ll probably be running around your place engraving everything with pictures or text through the Cubiio App. The Cubiio currently has about a month to go on Kickstarter with delivery later this year or early next year.
