America’s pastime may be dying a slow death. Perhaps in this age of instant gratification, a languid game that requires patience and bags of sunflower seeds just isn’t fast enough. Nokona, a small company on the outskirts of Dallas, however, isn’t giving up on baseball. The manufacturer makes baseball gloves, and they’re the last of a dying breed, as most are now made overseas and sold for a significant profit. As Bloomberg found out, the company has little interest in letting American made ball gloves disappear. While the final product costs significantly more than a foreign-made glove, there’s something special about an American company outfitting a sport that’s so entrenched in this country’s history.
