As we all know, the main objective of a trailer is to convince people to watch something without giving away the entire plot. And while a surprising number of movies have forgotten that, Mindhunter isn’t one of them. The bulk of the trailer is voiceover work on a growing Rorschach test of blood splatter, but it also includes a few video clips spliced in. None of them are very long (we’d be surprised if any of them last anywhere close to a full second) and each of them are very different, but all of them put together makes us think Mindhunters is going to be one of the weirder shows Netflix ever makes. Plus the music over them is a creepy, string-heavy instrumental and the voiceover work points toward the dangerous plumbing of serial killers’ minds. It’s a Netflix show, so undoubtedly there will be violence, language, sex, grit, and emotional depth. All summarized, we’re clearing our viewing schedules for the Mindhunter October release.
