If the turntable releases at CES are any indication, vinyl records are back and more popular than ever. Technics had some impressive new releases at CES, but Sony’s new PS-HX500 due for release this spring is cool in its own right. Aimed at a completely different demographic, this table is built around Hi-Res Audio Direct Stream Digital (DSD) or .WAV conversion, which allows you to convert all your analog masterpieces to an easily portable or archivable digital format. Sony also designed a new integrated shell type straight tonearm for better focusing, dimensionality and overall improved sound. If you don’t have a turntable already, this is one worth checking out.
