We’ve always been of the opinion that you could make friends over a bowl of ramen, but the experience was definitely not as profound as the one Gustavo “Goose” Alvarez had while he was an inmate at Chino. During the race riots, Alvarez and his crew fed ramen to their enemies, which turned them into brothers. The book even includes a foreword by Samuel L. Jackson.
