The team at Vantage Robotics has spent a lot of time making high tech products–It was founded by two Stanford alums–and now they’ve just opened pre-orders for what may be the best flying camera we’ve seen. At under $1000 and sized small enough to fit in a backpack (without getting destroyed), you wouldn’t expect Snap to pack things like a Sony Exmor 4k sensor, gimbal stabilization and a dynamic geofence. But it does. It also has a magnetic breakaway architecture and a modular design that will allow expanded capabilities in the time. All this fits into a package that is deployable from your bag in minutes, controllable with your phone or dedicated controllers and weighs a whopping 500 grams. If the best camera is the one you have with you, Snap is it when it comes to drones.
