Even at first glance, the Sprite unmanned aerial vehicle looks completely different than most of the other drones on the market. When the people at Ascent AeroSystems set out to create a new unmanned aerial vehicle they knew the final product was going to be a departure from what we commonly think of as a drone. Focused on portability and durability, Sprite uses a compact and enclosed airframe to keep it protected from dust, water and anything else that might screw up an average drone. It also packs fully autonomous autopilot (including multiple flight modes) with GPS and inflight telemetry, along with a “follow me” option. The camera housed in the base shoots 1080P HD video (including real-time first person mode) with a 2-axis stabilized gimbal, and there’s a separate attachment available for a GoPro. With a range of up to 4 miles, Sprite is ready for anything you are.
