Pioneer NEX Receivers Now Have Apple CarPlay

In-Dash navigation systems are available in most new cars these days, but the things they can do when you connect your phone via Bluetooth are limited. There’s also that whole “new car” thing, so if you have anything older than a few years, you’re pretty much sol when it comes to connecting your phone. If you have an iPhone, you’re going to want Apple’s CarPlay for your music, phone calls, message, Maps and everything else Siri can do that you’re not supposed to be doing while you’re driving. If you’re not planning on buying a new car this year, or you haven’t already, you can’t have Apple CarPlay. Unless you happen to have a Pioneer NEX Receiver in your car or you’re willing to have one installed. With nothing more than a simple firmware update and a lightning cable, Pioneer can give you all the Apple CarPlay goodies without having to get a brand new whip.
