Many guys have a passing interest in poker that never evolves out of a few games with friends. Colson Whitehead took his neighborhood poker interest and tried his hand (solid pun) at The World Series of Poker. The author who has crafted some really solid novels in the past (you should definitely read The Intuitionist), was sent by Grantland to cover the tournament and see how he’d do. The result is a humorous, behind-the-scenes look at The World Series of Poker through the eyes of an average player just like most of us. It will make you want to break out the chips and cards and possibly go to AC or Vegas.
