Dogfish Head Made a Beer Inspired by Pepper Spray

Dogfish Head has never been shy about getting weird with beer. Hell, the brewery’s motto is “Off Centered Stuff For Off Centered People.” Well, the latest brew to roll out of the Delaware brewery might be the most off centered yet. In Your Mace! is a new beer inspired by Mace Brand pepper spray. Before you go throwing up in your mouth, hear us out. The ingredients sound good. The beer is made with mace (the spice) and all-natural pepper oils that are found in Mace Brand pepper spray. Not awful. The beer clocks in at 5% ABV and possess a sweet stout profile with notes of spicy nutmeg, anise, and a chili finish. Only 200 bottles will be made available at the tasting room, but if you happen to be at Extreme Beer Fest this weekend, you can try it there as well. Or don’t. We’re a little scared.
