Things you generally expect to find as part of a watch: stainless steel, gold, nylon and leather. It’s not uncommon anymore to find materials like wood and rubber being used in their construction. Then there’s wax. Yes, the same stuff that drips down candles and was used to construct life-sized replica of PeeWee Herman can now be found in a watch. The sealed watch takes an incredibly old idea (wax seals) and marries it with 316 stainless and watch mechanisms to create their incredibly unique timepiece. Pairing old world techniques with modern ideas is nothing new, but turning that into a watch that costs less than $100 is pretty impressive.
