Paul Newman’s Stuntman’s Rolexes Head to Auction

Paul Newman’s Stuntman’s Rolexes Head to Auction

Actor, auto racer, and philanthropist Paul Newman remains an icon to this day, and he was also a watch lover who wore Rolexes almost exclusively, including two of the priciest ones ever sold at auction. He was also generous to his friends, having gifted two Rolexes to his stuntman and longtime friend, Stan Barrett. The special timepieces, a stainless steel GMT-Master ‘Pepsi’ and a stainless steel Daytona are headed to auction at the end of this year. The GMT-Master has the words “Stan Barrett 739 MPH Mach 1.0206 12-17-79.” after the stuntman achieved a land speed of 739.66 mph. Expect the watches to move for a significant sum given their provenance.
