Sir Richard Branson has made it abundantly clear that Virgin Galactic will be getting people into space as soon as humanly possible. After opening Spaceport America in Las Cruces, New Mexico and then showing off the Virgin Galactic Spacesuit they made with Under Armour, they finally revealed the interior of SpaceShipTwo in this recent livestream. Designed from the inside-out with the same focus on customer experience that Virgin is renowned for, the cabin is nothing short of extraordinary–even for a spaceship. As Virgin Galactic CEO Michael Colglazier put it, the cabin “will both facilitate and elevate a uniquely profound and transformational journey for the thousands who will fly.” We’re not just talking about large windows and room to float around in zero g, we’re talking about crew seats tailored for each individual astronaut that dynamically enhance comfort while exiting and re-entering the atmosphere and also cantilever appropriately to maximize cabin space for floating. It’s nothing short of incredible.
