When it comes to the most iconic art works of all time, Vincent Van Gogh’s creations are always near the top of the list. Which is why we were so excited by Loving Vincent, the world’s first fully painted feature film. Despite the fact it got snubbed for a 2018 Oscar, it was still one of our favorite films of the year. By all accounts, the creation of Loving Vincent was going to be a task of Sisyphean proportions with it’s almost decade of production work, 125 painters and 65,000 individual paintings that make up the film. The story of the creation of the film is just as interesting as the film itself, which is why they made a completely separate documentary film about it–Loving Vincent: The Impossible Dream. The hour-long documentary details the entire arduous journey of the creation of Loving Vincent and recently premiered in select theaters nationwide. Check out the preview now.
