The vastness of the IMAX screen seems purpose built for films that set out to explore the deepest and darkest edges of the solar system, which makes it perfect for the upcoming Ad Astra. You’re not going to get that same feeling watching this newly released Ad Astra IMAX trailer at home because the screen isn’t 72′ wide, but it’s going to get you excited about the film nonetheless. Brad Pitt plays Roy McBride, an astronaut who is travelling to the outer edges of the solar system on a quest to save the world and find his father Clifford McBride played by Tommy Lee Jones. The film also features Liv Tyler, Donald Sutherland, Ruth Negga, and Loren Dean. It was co-written and directed by James Gray. If the trailer alone is any indication, Ad Astra is going to be a phenomenal film. Ad Astra hits theaters on September 20th.
