A proper virtual reality experience used to require giant moving contraptions or full-sized arcade-style contraptions, but the Oculus Rift and other similar headsets brought that experience into the living room. Oculus is back with two new VR headsets that are better than the existing Oculus Rift in completely different ways. If you don’t already own a Rift, or you’re looking for an upgrade, the new Rift S is their most advanced, PC-powered gaming headset with improved optics and a more ergonomic halo headband. It really is the best way to experience VR content in the comfort of your own home, but it requires a pretty powerful PC and a wired connection. That’s where the new Oculus Quest comes in. The company’s first all-in-one gaming headset, the Quest comes pre-loaded with a number of incredible titles built for VR and, most importantly, doesn’t require a separate computer to power it. You can finally take your VR experience on the go without having to worry about complicated setup in different environments. Both the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S headsets can be pre-ordered now with an expected release date near the end of May.
