We love new, fancy, high tech gadgets to the point that any third party observer would probably consider it an unhealthy obsession. But as of late, we’ve been far more interested in cramming all those creature comforts we’ve become used to (Bluetooth, rechargeable lithium batteries, modern amps and speakers, etc.) into portable packages that make us reminisce about being young and hanging out with grandpa. The Kendall Portable Speaker is the perfect example of just such a product. It’s as modern as they come in terms of hardware and connectability (BT, 2×5 watt class “D” amps, 2 full range 2″ shielded speakers, 4hr battery and a 9x5x2.25 enclosure), but the walnut case and laser etched speaker grill make it feel like something you’d find lying around the basement in the 80s. Familiar aesthetic paired with modern convenience. It’s win, win in our book.
