Just shy of labeling it a pocket-sized drone, we have to say the DJI Mavic Mini is about as convenient as drones get while still allowing superb flight, control, and video capture capability. Not only is it small enough to fit in your hand when the rotor arms are folded, it can nab up to 2.7K video quality while weighing in at a mere 250 grams (that’s a little over half a pound). It also has capabilities similar to larger drones including circling around a subject, spiraling away from a subject, and flying away and up in the backward position. The CineSmooth feature enables the Mini to brake at a slower rate for more cinema-like shots, and operators get an HD live feed for optimal visibility during flight. The Mini also takes 12MP still shots, in addition to the 1080p/60fps or 2.7K/30fps video. The wireless charging dock/dome just so happens to look like a biology bell jar where a mummified human hand once resided. Pre-orders are open now for deliveries beginning Nov. 11.
