New Balance has teamed up with Tokyo Design Studio to create a stylishly rugged sneaker known as the R_C4. Part of TDS’s Reveal Series, the R_C4 employs a tough Cordura Tracefiber upper, a thin but grippy Vibram outsole, and supportive ENCAP REVEAL and ABZORB midsole for all-day trekking. A big “N” logo is emblazoned on the outside, and there are nighttime reflective laces. It’s the kind of shoe that can take you from the startup office Friday casual to a fall trail run without skipping a beat, or you can just pretend you’re outdoorsy at the local beer garden.
