Nike isn’t resting on its Air laurels. Responding to their loyal runner base desperately in need of improved cushioning, the Swoosh brand has emerged with their latest effort to reduce the shock of impact. The result is Joyride technology that looks a lot like a miniaturized and encased ball pit. Each shoe contains over 10,000 colored foam beads in the Conforming Cushioning System that respond to impact by shaping around the runner’s foot and also enhances forward propulsion. The brilliant and almost simple idea delivers a virtually customized cushioning experience by conforming to both heel and forefoot impact. Cushioning is improved 14% over the iconic Air Zoom Pegasus model, just as an example, and runners should notice the difference immediately. The upper is lightweight and breathable Flyknit fabric, and the initial colorway is White/Platinum Tint/Bright Mango/Racer Blue with the bright beads peeking through the translucent sole.

Vaer has been one of our favorite watchmakers for as long as we can remember because they produce new, classic watches based on iconic designs. Case in point, the Vaer G5 Meridian watch you see here. This timepiece is a 1950s-inspired 20ATM automatic watch that’s USA-assembled, dual timezone, built with ocean-ready functionality, self-winding and the brand’s first true GMT (the latest version of their core dive watch design). What’s more, it pays homage to other watches that are incredibly more expensive or hard to come by whilst also adding new aspects that makes this Vaer G5 Meridian watch more desirable than the other options in our opinion.
