The only differences are the SPD cleats, stiffer insoles so your pedaling energy isn’t wasted, reflective trim, and water-resistant leather. It’s not meant for competitive cycling, of course, but they provide pedal security and cycling performance above and beyond standard non-cleated versions. They’re also more comfortable than cycling shoes when you’re off the bike, and no one will really know the difference.
