John Wilsons’s metal sculptures are the kind of sculpture we actually like, as opposed to the kind that features the head of a barbie doll stuck on a trident and hailed as a post-modern masterpiece. Wilson combines the detritus of automotive transport–old road signs, tailgates, camshafts–and makes them into cool pieces of furniture that are as functional as they are easy on the eyes. They’ve got a classic sensibility, with many of the pieces featuring parts from vintage cars, each with that patina that makes them interesting. Powder-coated in bright colors, they’re a great addition to any pad.
