The LaFerrari supercar that was built between 2013 and 2018 will forever live in the brand’s pantheon of legends. Behind the development of the mild-hybrid V12 car are some rare prototypes that are actually going to hit the auction block at Monterey Car Week in August. The Ferrari Prototype Collection consists three LaFerrari prototypes: a Ferrari 458-based first-phase emissions development car modified to accommodate the LaFerarri drivetrain, a second-phase mechanical development prototype, and a third-phase prototype that features full LaFerrari bodywork. Another model that’s included in the auction is actually a prototype of the exclusive F12tdf, a car that paid homage to the Tour de France. Look for the collection at the Mecum Monterey 2022 auction from August 18th-20th and expect some seriously high bids.
