Fresh on the heels of announcing the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV, the brand just performed one of the coolest restomods we’ve seen im a while. Using an original 1975 Hyundai Pony hatchback, on which the Ioniq 5 was based, the Pony Heritage EV takes the boxy hatchback to new heights with pixilated headlights and taillights, fender-mounted cameras, and vacuum tube instrumentation in the beautifully minimalist interior. The powertrain, though unspecified, is 100% electric and likely similar, if not identical, to the Ioniq 5’s. Unfortunately, only one of them has been built for a new customer experience center in Pusan, South Korea, so you won’t see one roaming around your neighborhood.
