1996 Porsche 911 GT2

1996 Porsche 911 GT2

The final iteration of the air-cooled 911s (993, the internal Porsche designation) are truly coveted, and this 1996 GT2 is a rare find. A mere 243 of the GT2 models were built over a three-year span, and only 161 of them were street legal including this one. It is, essentially, a 911 Turbo but with rear-wheel drive only and hundreds of pounds shaved from the curb weight. The total output is a whopping 430 horses from the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The beautiful Polar Silver paint with black interior are just the right combination, and a mere 18K miles on the odo make it truly remarkable. The car is in factory spec with zero modifications, adding even more value to a remarkable sports car. It should command over a million when all is said and done at the RM Sotheby’s auction.
