It might not technically be a barn find, but this rare 904 Carrera GTS find is exceptional since it’s only one of 100 cars ever built, and it’s escaped the wear and tear of track competition. It hasn’t even been driven that much during its life, only going to shows and essentially stored away for 35 years. It’s a matching numbers, mostly original car that’s been sequestered in a SoCal garage by the owner and only recently discovered by Robb Report. The original 100 cars were developed for racing, but this one received a slight restoration to make it more daily drivable. It also received the red paint job on its fiberglass body. The original mid-mounted inline-four-cylinder engine is still present. For the most part, the car is the same as it was when it first rolled off the factory floor over half a century ago, and it’s up for sale by Gooding & Company.
