2024 Is the Year to Rediscover Nike’s Classic Kicks

Nostalgia is a dangerous drug. But every now and then it’s worth revisiting the past—either for new inspiration or as a reminder of past successes. When it comes to Nike’s archive of classic and vintage sneakers, the past looks pretty dang good.

Year after year, the Swoosh releases some of our favorite shoes. Lately we’ve been particularly impressed with the lineup of running shoes, trail sneakers, and even hiking boots. With these recent offerings, Nike has embraced a clean and modern aesthetic with thoughtful nods to vintage designs. The modern sneaker market is dominated by loud and expressive sneakers with bonkers designs and colorways. Contemporary sneaker makers might have to thank Nike for paving the way because Nike has embraced some experimental designs in its past.

In celebration of Nike’s catalog of classic kicks, we’re rounding up a few of our favorite vintage Nike sneakers that you can still purchase now.

Nike Air Pegasus 2005

Who remembers ‘05 being this colorful? The Nike Air Pegasus 2005 model is bold and beautiful with vibrant colors contrasting a clean white base. Nike also incorporated a cushioned insole giving you a spring with each step. While they were originally designed for running, these classic sneakers are perfect for just about any outfit.

Nike Zoom Vomero 5

On the flip side, we have the early 2000s’ Zoom Vomero 5 from Nike. What they lack in color they more than make up for with a unique design. The textured mesh upper provides breathability while the rubber tread offers increased traction. They’re clean, crisp, and a perfect addition to your wardrobe.

Nike Cortez

The Cortez needs no introduction. The seminal sneaker originally released in 1972 has served as inspiration for dozens of Nike releases and earned a significant following in its own right. These classic sneakers recently got an upgrade with improved materials to ensure they can last a lifetime. But, they still retail the timeless look and feel that made them a cult favorite in the first place.

Nike V2K Run

We’re taking another trip back to the early aughts with the V2K Run. These running shoes look and feel just like the turn of the century with flashy metallic details, a chunky construction, and retro colorway. They’re comfortable, stylish, and guaranteed to turn heads.
