While most laymen will recognize just about any Ferrari supercar, it’s only the cognoscenti who understand true automotive racing greatness. The 1964 Ferrari 250 LM is just such a car. It took the podium at the 1965 Le Mans endurance race. Although this one never saw Le Mans competition, it was kept at the ready in case it was needed. The result is a near-pristine car that’s pretty much impossible to find. It bears the original chassis, the slinky Pininfarina-designed body, and the 3.3-liter V12 mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The car is sure to command top dollar when it goes up for auction at the Retromobile 2023 on February 3.
