Laphroaig, the legendary distillery known for its bold peated Scotch, has unveiled its most prestigious offering yet, the 36-year-old single malt, as part of the brand-new The Wall Collection. Aptly named “Peat,” this exquisite whisky showcases the art of aging and flavor refinement. After maturing for over three decades in oak barrels, it undergoes a second aging process in a heavily peated cask to reinvigorate its smoky character. Alongside the distinct peat, you’ll savor notes of orange peel, pineapple, honey, vanilla, custard tart, and marzipan, with a finishing touch of peat and leather.
The Wall Collection derives its name from the bespoke bottles, each hand-painted by London illustrator Laura Carlin, using the same paint as Laphroaig’s Warehouse No. 1 exterior walls. These limited-edition treasures are presented in elegant boxes, set upon tiered display plinths. With only 200 bottles available through a Friends of Laphroaig club ballot system, The Wall Collection: Peat single malt is a rare and coveted gem priced at £4,500 (~$5,440). Indulge in the ultimate expression of Laphroaig’s peated perfection.
